Funky Brunch with Dan San Band

Biography

The Dan San Band was formed in 2004 when Dan Sanfilippo and John Tomulonis started writing the songs that would become their debut self titled album. They played shows in a number of venues in the Western Mass area with bassist Chris Kozak as a trio. Guitarists Jim Pagano and Tom Ingram would sit in on occasion until Andy Laughlin joined the band as the full time guitarist. When Chis Kozak left the band in 2005, James Murphy joined on the bass and the band started writing for their second album which mixed in catchy pop-punk anthems to their sound and was entitled "Cockypop".

Their 3rd studio album, “The Cost of Living” featured 12 hard rock songs performed by Dan Sanfilippo, John Tomulonis, James Murphy, Andy Laughlin, Eric Franco, Tom Ingram, and James D’Aloisio. The Dan San Band stopped performing original music in 2011 and the band only reunited for 2 cover song shows between 2011 and 2018 at the Met in Pawtucket, RI, and the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston, MA.

During that time, Dan Sanfilippo performed with his company's corporate band at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Dunkin Donuts Center, and the Rhode Island Convention Center, James Murphy went on to perform in Blackout (Sevendust Tribute), Andy Laughlin formed the Western Mass cover band Fuel the Magic, and John Tomulonis performed with the 80s rock tribute, Blaster.

In late 2017, Dan Sanfilippo began writing new music and rehearsing and arranging songs with a new lineup of musicians. On 5/1/2018 The single Unfinished Business was launched.
