Askew Blog Post #2 - Mar 2nd, 2020

Hello Askew patrons!!

March is a very exciting month…are you ready??!!

Today, March 2nd we have an amazing show with Christone “Kingfish” Ingram. He is a 20 year old blues prodigy from Clarksdale, MS. The show is SOLD OUT so hopefully you are one of the lucky ones who grabbed a ticket. GA-20 opens the show.

March 18th marks the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of the Askew PVD Open Jam run by Greg Sherrod Music. So come by on the 18th and congratulate Greg and his band!!

This month Askew is one of the venues chosen to participate in PVDFest Battle of the Bands. We have four great nights of the battle. It happens every Monday this month at Askew and as a special treat Nashville’s The Minks will perform a feature set after the battle on Monday March 9th. They are a great national touring band making a big splash so don’t miss that one!!

Windsong has cooked up an amazing “Mocktail" menu for those who love tasty drinks but don’t drink alcohol. Check out the menu in the blog picture here which includes the artwork from local artist Frankie B. Washington. There are also two other menus featuring artists Jay Starr and Jayden Viera. Check out the Askew Facebook page for those. Very cool stuff!!

Nick Dittmeier & The Sawdusters from Indiana make their Askew debut on Thurs 3/26 with Stev Delmonico’s project Bible Studies. JUST ANNOUNCED we have added Ian O’Neill from Deer Tick to the bill so that is going to be one to remember.

The next night on Friday 3/27 our hometown favorites The Silks make their Providence tour stop with legendary rock band Drivin’ N Cryin’. There are still a few tickets left for that one but they are not going to last long so grab them while you can!!

Our March Spotify Playlist is up and it is stacked this month. Make sure you check it out here https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2sLcnEHvaYXRnXKtRaRcu7?si=psrl1DJ5RdWZL5WNeZBz1w

That and so much more happening at Askew this month. Make sure you follow us on all the social platforms and tell your friends about us. We really appreciate it!!
